Right Brain Education

Right Brain – Development

T he left and right hemispheres of the brain have different capabilities. The left brain processes and remembers information using language, while the right brain uses images. The right brain possesses the ability to retain the complete image of things seen at a glance. Also, it is the receptacle for inspiration and the site of expression for image abundant creativity. The right brain controls the abilities to visualize images and the realization of those images physically. Nearly all successful people, regardless of their field of expertise, demonstrate the ability to use their brain for distinct image visualization.

“Right-brain method” for Reading, Math & Learning Encyclopedic Knowledge is suitable for children aged from birth to 6 years.

Neuro-scientists have found that babies have “computer-like” learning abilities through “Lightning-Speed Automatic Processing Function” which are performed in the right brain. By using this method children can master hundreds of words by the age of 1 or 2 and can read almost any text by the age of 5.

Children are born with incredible abilities including: speed-reading, photo reading, computer-like calculation, high-speed memorization, image visualization, multiple language learning capabilities and perfect pitch.

The right-brain method is carried out by the input of massive information at high speed and in large quantity. It does not require memorization or comprehension. Input is mechanical (showing flash cards at a high speed, listening to language and music). The subject is automatically memorized. If there is not sufficient material input fast enough, the “Lightning-speed Automatic Processing Function” will not kick in.

Children absorb knowledge quickly and easily from conception and lose this ability as they grow older — unless positively stimulated through simple learning techniques. The “window of opportunity” to easily develop right-brain capabilities is wide open until age 3, then it gradually closes to become almost totally left-brain dominant by age 6.”

Right Brain – Benefits

When the abilities of the right brain are understood in education, children and adults alike are encouraged to access the creative, and intuitive side of the brain for solutions to answers.

Capabilities of the right brain

Photographic memory

Speed reading, listening

Automatic mental processing

Mass-memory

Multiple language acquisition

Computer-like math calculation

Creativity in movement, music & art

Intuitive insight

Accessing the right brain, children vs. adults

Young children access the right brain quite naturally. In fact, they use the right brain subconsciously more than the logical, doubting left-brain. They act on creative, intuitive impulses. Adults, on the other hand, largely work out of the left-brain and need a lot of help in accessing this innocent part of themselves. But, everyone has these amazing capabilities and they’re hidden within the right hemisphere of the brain. The teaching focus is slightly different depending upon the age of the student.

Teaching the left language brain is easy. This side of the brain learns through repeated exposure to facts and figures, rules and logical expression. Teaching the right imaging brain is even easier. The right brain is a virtually a sponge that soaks up images every split second. It even records multiple images and several languages at once, without any confusion. The activation of the WHOLE BRAIN leads to the ability for all to achieve their highest potential. To understand how to maximize and activate the whole brain, we must concentrate our efforts on the right hemisphere of the cortex – the “imaging brain”.

Have you ever wondered why children always believe in Santa but by the time they are six or seven they would suddenly realize that Santa is not real? That is because children below 6 years old are right-brain dominant and they will gradually switch to left-brain dominant after 6-8 years old. The right brain is like a sponge that absorbs any information exposed to it in the raw form without any prejudice, right or wrong.

A newborn is one of the most amazing, astonishing and beautiful creations of nature. Research has shown that the right brain has amazing qualities too, such as photographic memory and the ability to memorize large pieces of information at rapid speed, but this diminishes as the child grows up. As it will become more difficult to stimulate and make use of its wonderful capabilities after the age of six years.

The main focus of our signature Intelligence Multiplier Programme is right-brain learning where children are encouraged to access the creative, intuitive side of the brain. The 55-minute class is filled with flash cards, music notes, listening to the sounds of different musical instruments each week & playing notes on the glockenspiel. During playtime, there is music appreciation followed by a foreign language song and story session where children will listen to as we enhance the child’s ability to perceive different languages. We then have songs at circle time and another flashcard session after that.

Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test

Explore innate traits from your fingerprints

In 1926, Prof. Harold Cummins from Tulane University discovered that during the embryonic growth, both the brain cells in the cerebral cortex and the skin cells are developed from the ectoderm. Together with a number of previous studies and findings, Prof. Cummins developed the study of “Dermatoglyphics”. He also discovered that patients with mongolism (Down’s syndrome) showed characteristic dermatoglyphic features on their palms and fingers. He was able to show that the peculiarities were of value in the diagnosis of mongolism. These findings not only gave a new impetus to the study of ridged skin, they also became the foundation of clinical dermatoglyphics.

The DMIT is based on Dermatoglyphics, a research on the shape and number of ridges found in your fingerprints, by processing the distribution of the amount and pattern of neurons which reflects the learning potential of each individual. Mrs Ho will then analyse the results accordingly, enabling parents to learn more about the innate learning styles and thinking patterns of children / person(s) analysed.

KinderU emphasizes the importance of understanding children’s innate traits and learning styles in order to teach parents how to guide their children to develop their multiple intelligences according to their strengths and weaknesses.
